Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026  ·  Prosody iOS App

Short version: Prosody collects your name and email when you sign in, and syncs your in-app progress to our servers. Speech is processed on your device and is never stored. We don't sell your data. That's the gist.

About Prosody

Prosody is an iOS application for real-time conversation practice. This Privacy Policy explains how Prosody ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Lucas Whittle, collects, uses, and protects information about users ("you") of the Prosody iOS application.

By using Prosody, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Speech and Audio

Prosody uses your device's microphone during conversation practice sessions. Speech audio is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

Speech recognition is processed on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition APIs. We do not receive, store, or analyze the audio from your conversations.

Conversation text generated during sessions may be temporarily processed to generate your score and feedback. This processing occurs within the session and is not retained as identifiable user data.

How We Use Your Information

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Data Storage

Your account information and usage statistics are stored on servers provided by Supabase, a third-party database service. Supabase stores data securely and in compliance with applicable data protection standards.

Subscriptions and billing are managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We do not store payment information. Refer to Apple's Privacy Policy and RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle billing data.

Leaderboard and Public Profiles

If you choose to participate in the Prosody leaderboard, your username, level, and XP total will be visible to other Prosody users within the app. Your email address and full name are never displayed publicly.

You can opt out of the leaderboard in Settings at any time.

Third-Party Services

Prosody integrates with the following third-party services:

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your Prosody account, your account information and associated usage data will be deleted from our servers.

To delete your account, use the Delete Account option in the Prosody app Settings, or contact us at help@getprosody.com.

Children's Privacy

Prosody is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete that information.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at help@getprosody.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Prosody after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
